Thank You Lord for Making Me A Recipient of Life Long Blessings and Healings

Dear Lord,

It’s Tonya again, Lord.  I was reflecting on all the times you have heard my cries and comforted me with answers, blessings and healings…even before I was walking with you.  I remember when I was first introduced to you during my dad’s cancer years.  I was five years old when dad found out that he had something seriously wrong with his body, the start of colon cancer.  Over the next ten years, he was often bleeding so much that he would be in the bathroom for hours on end.  My mom spoke to you often during these years and it made an impression on me.  I remember at least three distinct times being awoken in the early morning hours by mom and getting on my knees with her and my sister as she prayed to You for my father’s life.  The nurses had called again and said dad wasn’t going to make it.  We would pray, cry, and run to the hospital…only to have You save him again and he would make it through the night.  I praise you for your faithfulness to us.  My mom prayed and You let dad live.  That roller coaster of dad going into the hospital for weeks at a time, then coming home for a few months and then returning again when his health took a bad turn, was extremely taxing on all of us.  Then came the final answer to prayer, a new procedure called an illiostomy.  You allowed dad to hang on until the medical profession caught up.  The new surgery was introduced to the U.S. Dad had the operation in 1980.  I remember being 15 years old and knowing that this was the cure to his condition.  Lord, that was an incredible ride through a 10-year journey of mom’s answered prayers of faith.

And now, years later, I have been walking with You for eight years and you have steadily increased my faith trust account.  As soon as I put You in the driver’s seat of my life, You healed me of my migraine headaches. I had started having them in fifth grade and they continued for twenty-four years. You were also there when Roger and I got news that the ultrasound showed cysts on my baby’s brain ventricles. The doctors wanted us to go to Children’s Hospital to get another ultrasound, so “we would have all our options”.  We knew that our only option was praying to you and having Nathaniel.  You answered our healing prayers and he is incredibly healthy.  You were with me as I experienced kidney stones and the doctors said I would have to take medicine for the rest of my life in order to keep them from forming.  Lo and behold, you allowed me to get pregnant again, and the doctor said “no more medicine while you carry the child”, and four years later, I am medicine free and have not had another kidney stone.

You were with us when Nehemiah was born purple and not breathing.  We prayed intensely for several minutes and you allowed Nehemiah to live and even better, there were no side effects…except quite a spirited personality.  I see your blessings and healings weaved all throughout my life.  So, when afflicted with this last medical issue, a neurological spasm in my eye, and forced to leave policing…I had a peace about the whole ordeal.  I had a vision problem and numerous headaches from May of 2004 until December 2006.  And, once again, you chose to heal it, when modern medicine couldn’t.  Father, I haven’t even mentioned the emotional healings and financial provisions that you have blessed us with, but you know every single detail.  I am so unworthy of all the blessings you have bestowed upon our family, yet You gave them to us lavishly and have more in store for us.  I know prayer works, Lord.  I love you and thank you with all my heart.

Your daughter in Christ,
Tonya
